Show me your face…

The other day I was thinking about how the condition of the human body affects the countenance. Doctors and nutritionists can look into the eyes and see what is going on in the body.

The more I pondered this, I also began to think about the skin, how we are told that drinking a lot of water and keeping our bodies hydrated, can keep our skin looking younger and healthier…

“Our faces” often display what is going on in the body.  Everything from the eyes, under the eyes, the skin… coloration…. etc.

Suddenly I saw something I had never seen before!  I started thinking about prayer and intercession….

Isn’t that what prayer is all about?

When we pray… we really are saying, “Father, show me your Face”..

The many facets of His face indicate what is going on in His BODY!!!  The Body of Christ!  It’s like when we are close and intimate with a friend or our mate..

The closer we are to them and the more we KNOW them the more accurate we are in figuring out what’s going on in their hearts and minds just by the “look” on their face.

That makes me want to get alone with “Abba” and say, “Show me your face, Lord. Show me your face….”

When you don’t know how to pray… but you desire to feel the nearness of your Father God and know what’s on His heart…

Wait for Him… He wants you to LOOK at Him in the eyes just like you desire for the people you love, to look you in the eyes when you are sharing with them..

It’s how the connection takes place.. Spirit to spirit.. Heart to heart….  You’ll see what He sees. You’ll hear what He hears… You’ll say what He says

.. and you’ll pray what He prays.

Like Brian Johnson’s song, “Where you go, I’ll go! What you say, I say, God.  What you pray, I’ll pray”…

Look into His eyes.. You may not only see His love for His Bride, the Church,

but you also may see His yearning for His Creation, who have never known His passionate love and desire for them..
